Author Guidelines

A. Manuscript Submission

All research articles should follow LPT’s submission process described below:

Your submission must consist of:

1. Cover letter

2. Title page

3. Blind Manuscript

B. Manuscript Structure

The word count of the manuscript should not exceed 20,000 words. Manuscripts submitted to this journal must be structured according to the following structure:

Title

The title must be brief, clear, specific, and reflect the main content of the article. The title should be concise and avoid the use of uncommon abbreviations. It should contain a maximum of 15 words, excluding conjunctions.

Author(s) and Affiliation

This section contains:

  • The full name of each author.
  • The institutional affiliation of each author (e.g., Study Program/Department, Faculty, University, City, Country).
  • The email address of the corresponding author.

It is highly recommended to include the ORCID ID of every author.

Example Format (can be adjusted):

Joko Saefan¹*, N. Penulis²

¹Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Education for Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technology, Universitas PGRI Semarang, Semarang, Indonesia

²Department of Physics Education, XYZ University, City, Country

*Corresponding Author: jokosaefan@xxx.ac.id

Note: This section is written on the title page, not within the manuscript during submission.

Abstract

The abstract should be written in one paragraph that briefly summarizes the research background, objective, method, main results, impact, and conclusion. The abstract must be self-contained and provide a general overview of the entire article, with a maximum length of 250 words.

Introduction

This section presents the background of the problem, the urgency of the research topic, the study's context, and the research gap that serves as the basis for conducting the research. The research objective, and if necessary, the research questions or hypotheses, must be clearly stated.

Literature Review / Theoretical Framework

This section presents a critical review of relevant previous research and the theoretical foundation upon which it is based. Authors must position their research within the existing scholarly work or explain the conceptual or theoretical framework underpinning the study.

Methods

This section provides a detailed explanation of the research design, subjects/objects, instruments, data collection procedures, and data analysis techniques, enabling the research to be replicated. If relevant, aspects of research ethics should also be explained in this section.

Results

This section presents the research findings clearly, systematically, and objectively. Results may be supported by relevant tables, graphs, or illustrations. Interpretation is not yet conducted in this section; only the reporting of findings.

Discussion

The discussion section must contain:

  • Interpretation of findings by linking the research results to the objectives, theoretical framework, and findings from previous studies.
  • Implications, both theoretical, practical, and methodological (e.g., implications for physics learning, instrument development, or future research).
  • Research limitations that are honestly disclosed, along with brief suggestions for improvements or subsequent research.

The discussion should not merely repeat the results, but rather emphasize the meaning and scientific contribution of the research findings.

Conclusion

The conclusion section summarizes the answers to the research questions or the achievement of the research objectives concisely and directly. The conclusion must be consistent with the results and discussion, not introduce new data or analysis, and may be accompanied by relevant brief recommendations.

Acknowledgments (Optional)

Used to express appreciation to parties who contributed to the execution of the research (e.g., funding assistance, facilities, or academic support) but do not meet the criteria for authorship.

References

Contains all sources cited in the article and must be written consistently using the APA Style. Authors are highly encouraged to use references from reputable academic journals and publishers that have a DOI or other permanent link that can be traced online.

C. Style and Format

LPT editors ask you to adjust your manuscript to meet the journal-specific formatting guidelines after the final revision.

File format

Please submit the manuscript file in .doc or .docx format.

Font

LPT accepts Garamond 12 for format-free submission.

Layout and spacing

Prepare your manuscript text as 1.15-spaced.

Page and line numbers

Please, include page numbers and line numbers in the manuscript file.

Language

Since submission 2026, manuscripts must be submitted only in English. Please do not submit the Indonesian version.

Reference style

LPT uses the APA style. For more information, please follow: APA website. Authors are recommended to use Mendeley or Zotero Reference Software.

Equations

LPT recommends Microsoft Word Equation Editor (Microsoft’s Insert - Equation). Please do not insert images for equations. Equations should be numbered as (1), (2) … etc, appearing to their right. Estimation results from a software package are not to be presented directly in the paper. They should be presented in summary tables.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
