Management Pengelolaan Tempat Latihan Pada Atlet Pencak Silat Dengan Disabilitas Tunarungu
Abstract
This study aims to examine the management of training facilities for deaf athletes in the sport of pencak silat at the Tamanwinangun Special Needs School (SLB) in Kebumen District. A qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The participants included the school principal, physical education teachers, and deaf student-athletes. Data analysis focused on four main dimensions: facility accessibility, communication strategies, adaptive training programs, and social and psychological support. The results showed that while the training facilities were generally adequate, there were some shortcomings, such as the use of non-standardized mats. Communication strategies involving sign language were effective, although coaches had not yet fully mastered sign language independently. The training program was well-structured and adaptive to the needs of deaf athletes, supported by the emotional involvement of the coaches. In addition, strong support from parents, school staff, and coaches played a significant role in enhancing the athletes' comfort and motivation. The study concludes that inclusive and adaptive management is essential for creating a supportive training environment that fosters athletic development for individuals with hearing disabilities.
