PENGARUH STRATEGI MULTIPLE REPRESENTASI PADA PEMBELAJARAN REALISTIK MATEMATIK TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR ALJABAR SISWA

Abstract


Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi multiple representasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir aljabar siswa dalam pembelajaran Realistic Mathematics Education (RME). Subjek dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 1 Jekulo Kudus. Sampel dipilih dua kelas, satu kelas eksperimen di mana subjek diberikan pembelajaran RME dengan strategi multiple representasi, sedangkan satu kelas sebagai kelas kontrol diberikan pembelajaran dengan pendekatan scientific. Metode penelitian menggunakan desain quasi-eksperimen. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan tes kemampuan berpikir aljabar. Data penelitian yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji t dan uji proporsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh antara pembelajaran RME dengan strategi multiple representasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir aljabar. Siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran RME dengan strategi multiple representasi memiliki kemampuan berpikir aljabar yang lebih baik dibandingkan siswa yang menggunakan pembelajaran scientific. Selain itu, lebih dari tujuh puluh lima persen siswa dengan pembelajaran RME menggunakan strategi multiple representasi telah memenuhi standar Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM).
